PhosphaBase3D - Coming Soon!
The Aim
The idea with PhosphaBase3D is to provide a resource of structural information and tools allowing users to play with phosphatase structures.
Data
All the data (or almost) within PhosphaBase are extracted from existing databanks, in order to have an overall unique database on phosphatases. Similarly, data extracted from the Protein Data Bank (PDB), uniquely related to phosphatases, will be used in PhosphaBase3D.
Tools
Ideally, the aim is to develop tools to allow the visualization of the three dimensional structures of phosphatases. This may include tools to play with the coordinates, to generate pictures, to produce alignments of independent coordinates and to build models based on sequence alignments. Other tools may be developed at the user's request.
A tool for viewing structures is available - Motif3D. This is designed for use with the PRINTS database to visualise the positions of motifs.
We welcome comments and suggestions for PhosphaBase3D tools. Please don't hesitate to contact us.
