OptiMage is a tool for producing 3D layouts of network data.
It can work with simple interaction data (e.g. protein-protein interactions), but can also be used to visualize directed networks, phylogenetic trees or distance matrices (e.g. evolutionary distances between genes). The results are presented in kinemage format, which is easy to manipulate and share online. See here for more information on the data formats used. We have prepared a small gallery of visualizations produced using OptiMage. Please contact us if you would like to contribute your work. This webserver accepts datasets with up to 1000 nodes (or up to 500 leaf nodes for tree data). You can download OptiMage here if you want to use it with larger networks. Have fun! Update: 31 Jan 08 OptiMage v1.1 allows specified pairs of nodes to have unconstrained distances. Any negative values in the distance matrix will be interpreted as no constraint on the corresponding node pairs. |
