Here you can provide a UniProtKB identifier or accession number [?], or a protein sequence in FastA format [?]. MINOTAUR will use BLAST to gather similar sequences, then build a PRECIS report based upon their UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot annotation, or generate search terms with which to query PubMed. Adjusting the E-value will exclude those matching sequences that score above the given value from the annotation-culling process. Alternatively, ADVANCED OPTIONS can be used to limit the maximum number of sequences used. Note - using closely related sequences will tend to produce protein family level reports and search terms, whilst allowing more divergent sequences into the process will tend to produce annotation more relevant to the protein superfamily.
