Motif3D is a simple wireframe protein structure viewer that has been designed specifically for use with the PRINTS database.  Through selecting a PDB structure that corresponds to a sequence in a fingerprint, the positions of the motifs in the fingerprint can be visualised.  The viewer also allows manual highlighting of motifs of interest on the structure, together with other standard structure viewer features.

Fill in the form below to view a fingerprint from either PRINTS or prePRINTS on a particular structure:

Please ensure you have completed the form correctly. You must enter at least a PDB code.

Please make sure the appropriate database is selected:

Enter the ID code of a fingerprint you wish to view:
(e.g. rhodopsin)

Enter the four-letter PDB code of a structure for this fingerprint:
   (e.g. 1f88)

Alternatively:

  • Enter a Protein Data Bank (PDB) ID code to find fingerprints that can be displayed on the structure.
  • Enter a PRINTS or prePRINTS fingerprint ID code to find appropriate structures.
  • Enter a protein sequence and search for related structures and fingerprints.

Please ensure the appropriate option is selected:

Enter PDB code, Fingerprint ID or sequence (in FASTA or plain text format) here:
