   NADH-plastoquinone oxidoreductase chain 5 is part of the NADH-ubiquinone
   oxidoreductase (complex I), which catalyses the transfer of 2 electrons from
   NADH to ubiquinone in a reaction that is associated with proton trans-
   location across the membrane [1]:
  		 NADH + plastoquinone = NAD(+) + plastoquinol. 
  
  
   NPOXDRDTASE5 is an 8-element fingerprint that provides a signature for
   NADH-plastoquinone oxidoreductase chain 5. The fingerprint was derived from
   an initial alignment of 17 sequences: the motifs were drawn from conserved 
   regions spanning virtually the full alignment length. Two iterations on 
   SPTR37_10f were required to reach convergence, at which point a true set
   comprising 97 sequences was identified. Several partial matches were also
   found, all of which are family members that fail to make significant matches
   with one or more motifs.
